Lola’s “Girl’s Night Out” (The Man Edition)

This past thursday I had the pleasure of experiencing “Girl’s Night Out” at Lola’s Kitchen and Wine Bar (180 W Park Ave, Long Beach, NY). Some of the deals include: $15 pitchers of Sangria (girls only) and $15 dinners (again, girls only).

Let me tell you, the place was rocking (with all girls). At one point I was one of two males in the entire dining area (not counting the staff).  I would say that the female to male ratio was 50 to 1. The scene was totally Sex and the City (by the sea). I was getting drunk off all the perfume and hairspray smells and the men’s bathroom was clean and empty. It was great!

I’m not going to do a proper review of Lola’s. You can find better ones at YELP. Basically, in a nut shell: the food is fine, the atmosphere and staff are great and the drinks will get you drunk.  I’m solely writing this as a public service announcement for all you single men out there:

Did I mention that the female to male ratio was 50 to 1?

The bar area did have more men, but not packed.  So any single guys out there looking to meet a girl, don’t be intimated by the “Girl’s Night Out” banner and go to Lola’s on a thursday night. You just aren’t allowed to order from the pink menu.  So why am I giving away this information? Well, lets just say I wear a ring on one of my fingers and have no use for the single scene…. haha

Here are some pickup lines you can use that have worked for me in the past:

“Are You google? Because you’re the one I’m searching for”
“Is that a mirror in your pants? Because I see myself in them”
“Do you have a library card? Because I’m checking you out.”
“I lost my phone number. Can I have yours?”

  1. I can’t agree with this review. I was here twice and I found the food to be below par and the service very Unprofessional
the girls may be nice but that was about it. Unless you are over 50.
You can find nice girls at mostly any bar, try the west end, much better food and the service is better as are the girls.

  2. I wasn’t doing a food review. I know that Lola’s isn’t known for its food.
I’m in my 30s and thought there were a lot of pretty girls there – and a lot not too far from my age.

I was merely commenting on the fact that I was one of 2 males experiencing Girl’s Night Out and thought it was amusing.

    Thanks for visiting the blog!

  3. I’ve too heard a few people complain about the food here, but I’ve always had a great experience. Wine Night Wednesdays are one of the best deals in town – good food and great (massive quantities) wine. Also if you’re in before either 6PM or 7PM most nights they have a prix fixe menu that I’ve enjoyed.

Specifically on the food, I’ve found their starters much better than their entrees. The muscles are especially awesome.
