This Saturday will mark the first annual Sand Jam, a 7+ hour beach music festival which features local bands such as Benoir and the Long Beach All Stars, The Dave Kellan Band, Milestone, Steel Horse and Still Remains.
“It will be the first of hopefully many,” according to Peter Kupershmid of Long Beach Music Coalition, who is promoting the event. While most of this years artists are more rock oriented, Peter told me future Sand Jams will offer more. “We want to branch out to other genres in the future. We will have local DJs like DJ Chef spin records in between bands. We want to offer something for everybody.”
Peter said they are looking into bringing a Sand Jam to the colder months as well, but that’s still in the early stages of planning.
Sand Jam takes place on Saturday, July 28th from 3:00 pm till 10:00pm at National Beach – Adjacent to the Allegria Hotel (80 West Broadway, Long Beach, NY).
