16th Annual Fall Festival (I already did a post on this already, but this news release seems more official)

Come on down to the 16th Annual Fall Festival this weekend in Kennedy Plaza! We’ve extended the hours this year and expanded the Kids Korner to make the event even more family friendly! Along with the family favorites like the famous pumpkin patch, carousel, & petting zoo, the City will have its first ever Bicycle Rodeo on Sunday, October 14thAlso new for this year, Pony Rides all weekend long!

The City of Long Beach & Goodwill Industries are partnering up to help those less fortunate, and you can help too! Goodwill staff will have a table and donation bins setup in Kennedy Plaza during the festival.

  1. The bike rodeo is pretty fucking cool and I say that because I’m part of it.
    An obstacle course for kids = hands on safety lessons for the little ones. Bike helmet giveaway and proper fittings with a big thanks to Deco Bikes. Local Cycles and Long Beach Cycles will be on hand to help the kids out, checking out their bikes and being all sorts of awesome.

    Lt Ragona deserves the big high-five for pulling this all together alongside an army of volunteers.

    The bike rodeo is SUNDAY behind the police station/next to the LIRR parking lot. Bring a kid. If you don’t have one, borrow one. Don’t forget their bike and helmet (or get a new one for free).
