SNOWFLAKE RACE SET TO GO ON – SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2013

Please join us in Long Beach for a new beginning and our first race of the new year! The Long Beach Recreation Department is currently registering runners for the 2013 4-Mile Snowflake Race which will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 9:00 am.

The race will begin and end at Lindell School, 601 Lindell Blvd, and is being sponsored by Earth Arts, Life’s A Bagel, RK Gould Tae Kwon Do, Dr. Sean Pastuch, Skudin Surf, and Dover Caterers.

The race entry fee is $20.00 for those registering before February 22 at 5:00 pm. To register online visit www.flrrt.com.

Number and shirt pick-up will take place at Lindell School from 7:30 am to 8:30 am. All registrants will receive a long sleeve t-shirt. The awards ceremony will also be held in the Lindell School Gym.

Additional Race T-shirts, both for the Snowflake Race and the Turkey Trot, which was cancelled due to Superstorm Sandy, will be on sale the day of the race, with all proceeds benefiting the rebuilding of the boardwalk.

The Snowflake Race is always a fun winter event in which the community can be more active in an otherwise very quiet and slow season. And although our boardwalk may be absent, the race will go on, won’t you run with us!
