Debris cleanup along the bay area – Help rebuild the City of Long Beach

Join the Long Beach Comeback Crew and help “Save the Bay,” where volunteers rebuild the City of Long Beach and help get our community back on its feet in the months following Hurricane Sandy. We will be cleaning up debris along the bay area—please bring your work gloves. Residents and visitors of all ages are encouraged to come out and lend a hand in revitalizing Long Beach one block at a time!

  1. I think these volunteer efforts are very commendable. But why should ordinary citizens have to do it? Where are the City “workers”?

  2. On earth day it actually started to look nice again in lb. now all the places that we cleaned up , just has litter all over again. Why can’t we just clean up after ourselves? You can’t blame the constant litter on the storm anymore people.

  3. could you tell me where in this country volunteers are not utilized to partake in beautification projects such as these? the city workers are not your maids.

  4. volunteering helps folks reconnect with the community they live in. Besides, some people WANT to volunteer. Plus it’s a great way to meet people and it feels great when you’re done.

Free help? Citizen Participation? Something better with the end result? Nothing wrong with that.
