RESIDENTS OF LONG BEACH INVITED TO 9/11 SERVICES

City of Long Beach and area residents are invited to pay tribute to the victims of the September 11th attack and “remember” at several events scheduled on the barrier island on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.

Please join the City at a Remembrance Gathering at 8:00am at the Recreation Center Parking Lot (Magnolia Boulevard and the Bay). City Officials, Clergy from the community and Long Beach Veterans will gather to take a moment to remember those lives lost on 9/11.

County Legislator Denise Ford will hold her annual service at the Virginia Avenue Garden of Remembrance, located on Virginia Avenue and West Beech Street at11:00am.

At 7:30 pm the Long Beach Fire Department will hold a ceremony to pay tribute to the victims and honor the first responders, firefighters, police, rescue and military service men and woman.  The ceremony will take place at the monument located on the center mall at West Park Avenue at Lafayette Boulevard.

All are welcome to attend these events.
