Comment on the proposed South Shore Blueway Plan [Public Invite!]

The South Shore Blueway Draft Plan public release marks the final stage in a region-wide, community planning effort to establish a water trail for nonmotorized boats on Nassau County’s south shore.

The Plan – designed by Going Coastal, Inc. and Cameron Engineering and Associates, LLP – to be a blueprint for the development, implementation, maintenance and use of the South Shore Blueway Trail, identifies access points and gaps where further water access is needed to complete the trail. There is a 30-day public comment period through November 21

The proposed South Shore Blueway Trail Plan, trail map and launch site design concepts are available on the project website The public is invited to share their comments both online and during a community discussion November 14, 6:00 pm at Freeport Village Hall Conference Room, located at 46 N. Ocean Avenue, Freeport, New York 11520. Participants at the public meeting will have the opportunity to ask questions or provide comments on the proposed plan.
