Recreation E:News (for the next week)

From the Long Beach Department of Recreation:

Dear Friends,

park&recI hope everyone enjoyed their Spring break with family and friends.  The Rec Center was certainly a busy place during these last two weeks and it is getting busier as new Spring programs begin and Summer approaches.

Over the break we held 3 on 3 basketball contests for boys and girls as well as our first youth kickball tournament for boys and girls in grades two through ten. We would like to thank all of the participants as well as the parents on an excellent job in making these events such a huge success.

Last call for our Youth Spring Lacrosse Program as well as our Youth Outdoor Soccer Program. These programs are designed to teach the basic fundamentals of each sport in a safe, fun, and friendly atmosphere. This is also the last call to sign up for the Inaugural Women’s Softball Dottie Barriscale Tournament. Don’t delay, sign up today!  Please click here for applications for all programs.

All State Parks are involved in this exciting statewide event organized by Parks & Trails New York (PTNY) in partnership with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation(OPRHP) and local Friends groups, to celebrate and enhance New York’s State Parks and historic sites and bring visibility to the entire park system and its needs. Please click here for nearby State Parks that are participating. Look for our local park initiatives in July when we celebrate Parks and Recreation Month.
