Newsday: Sale of Long Beach Medical Center, nursing home OKd by bankruptcy judge

Looks like we’ll be getting our 24/7 emergency hospital after all: South Nassau Communities Hospital gets clearance for the sale of Long Beach Medical Center

The state allocated $6.6 million to South Nassau last October toward the construction of an urgent-care facility in Long Beach. The clinic on the medical center site could open as early as this summer and the emergency facility some time later, Weston said after the hearing. [NEWSDAY]

Newsday reports that the Komanoff Center change of ownership still needs approval from the State Department.
