Attention All Local Artists, Photographers, Knitters, Poets, Musicians, Candlestick Makers, Basket Weavers, Crafty Characters & Whatnot: Give Me Your Links!

I am going to try something new here. WordPress just graced me with a new Portfolio feature, which makes no sense for me because I really have nothing to show for myself. But some of you do.

If you are a local artist, photographer, knitter, musician, crafter or whatever and would like to link your portfolio on seabythecity (for free), please send me your link along with your preferred display photo and I will post it on the new SEA BY THE CITY LOCAL ARTIST HUB!

(If you have a better name suggestion for that, please let me know)

Right now the page can be viewed via the menu bar on top under: Local Artists. I will eventually display a banner somewhere on the blog showcasing it.

The page currently displays a dummy-SEABYTHECITY link just as a test, but it will be deleted once the page fills up. That just shows you how your link will be displayed.

I honestly don’t care what your art is. Just be local (Long Beach, Island Park, Atlantic, Lido, Point Lookout).

What’s the point? Well, even though my artist ability doesn’t go further than drawing a stick figure, I do love the arts and want to do my part in helping the local artist community grow. Plus there really isn’t a centralized online hub (that I know of) for local artists to say that they exist. So now is your chance! Take advantage of this free offer, now!

So send me:

  • Your Portfolio/Website Link (facebook, etc too)
  • Name of your craft/service/business
  • A preferred photo that you would like displayed on the HUB page. Square-shaped please, so be a square and make sure it’s sorta squarish.

Please email me. I don’t want to look like a loser with no artist friends.

Please read the terms of service before you comment.

  1. welcome spring to Long Beach:

    seabirds welcome daybreak
    loudly calling sunrise
    waves tackle shoreline
    tumbling together
    roaring with laughter
    joggers dance the boardwalk
    rosy cheeks and happy eyes
    barely touching board
morning chill giving wing to foot
    old folks sit smiling
    welcoming the new suns warmth
with upturned face and young hearts
    later
    mothers in tandem
    push bubbling babies
    greeting sun
    with peals of laughter
    turning morning breeze to song
and so we welcome spring to long beach.
