Instead of supporting multi-zillion-dollar-big-box chain stores on Black Friday, why not buy some unique and one-of-a-kind gifts at our local Long Beach shops? Julia of Karma’s Angel (68 W. Park Avenue) is participating in the American Express Small Business Saturday on November 29th. Visit local participating stores for unique deals and fun ways to shop. Julia tells us:

“I’ve created a campaign via American Express Small Business Saturday that’s been recognized by Newsday and they’re running an article early next week. It’s called #shopsmallselfie

For those who aren’t familiar, Small Business Saturday/Shop Small Saturday was launched in 2010 by American Express to help businesses get more customers. It’s grown into a powerful, recognizeable national day/event that has very much been proven successful.

The premise of this campaign is to create a successful shopping season for local businesses and for local residents to take part in a mission that’ll directly positively affect themselves and family.

#ShopSmalSelfie works as follows:

*a shopper/customer/client enters your establishment and shows you their photo of a local purchase using #shopsmallselfie and ‘redeems’ it for the Shop Small Saturday Local promotion you’ve created. ie: discount, free gift w/ purchase, food/beverage, service..etc.

Just as many rush out for the Black Friday deals and Holiday promo’s…it should be very desirable!

Stop by her store next Saturday and help support the small businesses in Long Beach! If you’re a local business owner and like to participate in the American Express Small Business Saturday, please read below:

What you need to do?

**Create the Incentive! Email me (briefly) what your #shopsmallselfie deal is and a few words about your business that best describes it.
