  1. Great to see the administration trying new things; taking suggestions of residents. A small effort perhaps, but it symbolizes a huge step forward by those who previously were seen as holding a “public-be-damned” attitude.

Thank you to all the Long Beach City employees who made this possible.

  2. According to the official city facebook and at the event $0 thanks to about a dozen sponsors.

According to Mandy Hession, Kerry Gustavsoon and the negative nancys at Project 11561 at least $10,000. No source for their number other than a “rumor” that they simply kept perpetuating among themselves.

Anthony seems to be friendly with Jack. Maybe he can ask him? You could always FOIL for the true numbers too. I dont really believe anything I read anymore. P11561 lost my support after the faux outrage about “pear trees” where they attacked Anthony Eramo for the sake of politics.

  3. I’m the first one to complain of absurd expenditures, bonding and raising taxes. But operating a small city costs money. Events as this provide vitality to the community, contribute to its commercial base, which pays a huge portion of taxes, and offers positive media coverage of the community.

It’s small expenditures as these which do a lot to present Long Beach as a great place to live and invest.

We can’t vote on every dollar spent. Let’s give the City its due with this one. A cheap or free, great non-political event well done. Thanks, guys!

  4. Looked like a nice time. Unfortunately, I had to skip it bc my baby is too small to be out in the rain. I hope they do it again next year. We did go to the Winter Wonderfest at the rec center. Took a ‘winter wonderland’ portrait, bought Polar Bear gear & even got a pic with Santa. I love these community events. (Perhaps more vendors for next year’s Winter Wonderland?)

  5. Jay Jacobs says the Fuhrer and Handlebars must go? Whoever shall fill those egomaniacal shoes? Inquiring minds want to know. And does this mean Shnirman goes too?

  6. Jay Jacobs says the Fuhrer and Handlebars must go? Whoever shall fill those egomaniacal shoes? Inquiring minds want to know? And what happens to Shnirman? Sounds like rough times between Local Cycle and the plumber.

  7. NC Dem head Jacob’s comes to LB to tell the Zapson and Kohut their rule is over? Oh my, whoever will fill those egomanicial shoes?
