Indian Food coming to Long Beach!

The other day I asked: WHAT BUSINESSES WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE IN THOSE VACANT WEST END SPOTS? WHAT IS THE WEST END LACKING FOOD-WISE?

So many of you said Indian food. Well, you’re wish is my command. HA, not really.. buuuuut Project 11561 is reporting that Indian food is indeed coming you the West End in the former-West End Diner/Grill location.

  1. Couldn’t be worse than the GR. Nice folks – the waitress is a doll – but how do you mess up eggs and french fries? Check out the GR to find out. Never again!

  2. Another new restaurant.A new skate rink…..I live on the East end and have travelled to the West End 2X last year on my way to the Atlantic Beach bridge.Where are our priorities? Where is our Hospital? The roads need to be addressed. Driving on Monroe Blvd.is like navigating through a mine field. Last year I had to relace runflat tires and a section of the catalytic converter on my vehicle. Why the City does not triage effectively, before starting frivolous projects is beyond comprehension.

  3. That really sucks, I was wondering why they were closed on New Years Day. I wish the West End Coffee shop would come back, not Indian food.

  4. What the hell does a private business have to do with any of what you just said? Now a coffee shop turned greek diner turned indian restaurant is a “frivolous city project”???

  5. Just to clarify, I don’t care if there’s a place that serves Indian food, I just would rather the West End Coffee Shop in that location. It’s sad that I felt this clarification was needed, cause I see this going down an ugly road already.

  6. WE Coffee Shop was a great little place. So where do people go now for breakfast or lunch withinn walking distance? Are people going to drive somewhere only to return and be unable to find a parking space?

  7. The owner of this Indian Restaurant own’s another one in Baldwin that I frequent (crazy how I have to travel all the way to Baldwin for decent Indian food). He’s a really nice guy and I’m really excited to have Indian food in LB. I really hope it does well.

But its a shame that the Coffee Shop is gone. Too bad.

  8. bungalow west? dough hut? minns, speaks and (i believe now) swings also serve brunch on the weekends. west end pizza, beach house and a few others are open for lunch.
