Arden Designs: Coastal Greeting Cards and Beach Photography

Long time Long Beach resident, Kristie Arden has transformed her love of Long Beach into a growing custom photography business. Arden Designs offers a line of coastal photography and beach inspired greeting cards. “I let the beach compose the pictures for me.” says Kristie, “Natural lighting is the perfect way to let any subject come to life. The early morning and sunset are my favorite times to shoot.”

Arden Designs’ greeting cards are all handmade. The front of each card is a 4×6 photograph; which can be framed.  These works of  ‘mailable’ art are available a The Coffee Nut Cafe (250 East Park Avenue), Earth Arts (162 West Park Avenue) and on her web site:

Arden Designs will proudly participate in Long Beach’s Arts in the Plaza this summer with a full line of handmade cards, prints and framed coastal creations of Long Beach. Arts in the Plaza begins on May 26th and will run every Saturday in front of City Hall.

Come join us in our third season of fun at Long Beach Arts in the Plaza! Continuing to be the community’s inspiring arts and music marketplace, this weekly event is one to look forward to! Paintings, photography, jewelry, and stained glass are just a few types of original work that our talented artists will be displaying and selling. Live music performed in the afternoon adds to an already fun and energetic atmosphere, from solo acoustic performances to bands from around the island. In addition to the weekly shows, four main events will have bands rocking from the bandshell right in front of City Hall! The Farmers Market also has its roots in the plaza which can only enhance the experience for everyone!

Arts in the Plaza takes place on Saturdays from 10:00am – 4:00pm at Kennedy Plaza in Long Beach, NY. The season begins May 26th and extends through October 27th. Kennedy Plaza is located just west of the LIRR and Long Beach bus terminal near City Hall. Arts in the Plaza is sponsored by the City of Long Beach in association with West End Arts Visual Artists Guild, the Long Beach Art League, and Artists in Partnership. For more information or to join Arts in the Plaza please visit us at We look forward to seeing you there!

ARTS in the PLAZA will move to Saturdays this Spring 2012

I was just informed by the good folks who organize Arts in The Plaza that next spring they’ll be moving to Saturdays, in conjunction with the Kennedy Plaza Farmer’s Market. Well, it’s about time!

I often forgot about Arts in The Plaza on Sundays (sorry guys!!). To be honest, one weekly weekend trip to Kennedy Plaza was enough for me; My stomach dictates my actions, so the Farmer’s Market always won. I never understood why both markets weren’t together in the first place! Now I will definitely check out some art while shopping for my farm fresh groceries.

More convenience for us consumers = More consumers for the vendors = Everybody’s happy! What do you guys think?
