Because you asked: My solar panel savings.

PLEASE NOTE: I just want to say that I’m neither a spokesperson for EmPower Solar, nor do I work for them. I’m merely just overly enthusiastic costumer who loves blabbing about my wonderful solar panels.

Since my post from the other day [Read – Thinking of going solar? Go with EmPower Solar. I did and I love it!], I was asked about the actual cost of my system. I don’t feel comfortable telling you that, but I will tell you how much I’ll save. Did it cost a lot? Sure, but it was worth it. The image in this post shows the savings for my particular plan. My system will be paid off in 8 years (including federal and state tax credits). All those numbers basically speak for themselves. I plan on living in my house for a long time, so for me it was a no-brainer to go solar. The overall cost will be different for everybody. It all depends on your system size, your panel selections, your system production, roof exposure, etc.  Even if I said I paid X amount of dollars, it really doesn’t matter because your situation would be different.  I want to add that EmPower Solar does offer payment options, so you don’t have to outright buy the system.

I wanted solar panels on my house. I did a ton of research and ended up going with EmPower Solar. I cannot recommend them enough. They’re very friendly, knowledgeable and take great pride with their product. The entire process was very easy. They basically look at your PSEG bills, assess the sun beams on your roof, then present you with a proposal. Best of all, EmPower Solar does the installation themselves! They own up to their work and don’t use any third party installers like what other solar companies are known to do.

Solar is just so worth it.  Here’s why:

That’s all I pay PSEG every month. It’s basically a pole fee. My system is producing an excess amount of energy which is being pumped back into the electric grid for you non-solar people to use. This allows me to build up credits (aka $$$$).

Being that my system is new, my solar date just started this past March 17th. As you can see from the screenshot below, I have $1,281 in credit. That is just March 17th to July 21st – the day I am posting this. Those credits will build up. Some of it will be used during the darker winter months, some will be credited back to me once my solar year ends, which is March 16th, 2018.

I am actually generating enough energy to power an electric car. Pretty soon I’ll never have to go to a gas station ever again. If you really like this blog, you will buy me a Tesla (uses jedi mind trick).

So I retrieve all this information from a phone app that’s wirelessly linked to my system. EmPower is monitoring all this stuff as well. They will even know if an obstacle is blocking one of my panels, to guarantee my system is operating at maximum efficiency at all times. Pretty cool, right?

Any environmentalists out there? We all should be. We all live on the same planet. Here are my lifetime environmental savings since March 17th, 2017:

So even if you don’t use my referral link (please do, I am begging you!), I seriously think you should consider solar and definitely with EmPower Solar. I’ve had the system for just a few months and I am obsessed with it.
