Come join Long Beach Ukulele Orchestra! I’ve been part of the group for around two years. I love it! The classes are very casual and loads of fun. Benoir and Jeff, who run the orchestra, are great teachers and are very patient. It doesn’t matter what level you’re at. Whether you’re a beginner who never touched a Ukulele, or a pro who loves to shred scales, everyone is welcome to join. Players of other string instruments are welcome as well!

The songs we play stretch across many genres, such as traditional Flamenco, blues, traditional Hungarian, classic rock, pop and even Heavy Metal! Songs we’re learning now include: ‘Space Oddity’, ‘Wish You Were Here’ & ‘Canon in D.’ Original songs are also sprinkled in. And, if there’s a song you think would be great for the class to play, just bring it in! That is how we roll.

We generally learn these songs to be performed for an upcoming show, so our list of songs change and grow over time. The next performance is June 11th at Arts in the Plaza (Kennedy Plaza).

Want to join? Please contact Ben Metzger aka Benoir for more info. Classes are $20 on Tuesdays @ 7:30pm (there are additional times, which vary from week to week).
