Did you know there is an Exotic Car Show this weekend? I just found out the other day! Was this even advertised anywhere? Oh, wait it’s the Chamber of Commerce. Maybe that’s why I didn’t hear about it. They need to assign somebody to social networking and PR.]
Well anyway, I actually think this is a cool idea. Especially now before our beach season gets into full gear. Here are some details:
The image below comes from a reader who created it has a sign submission for the Long Beach Safety Slogan Contest. While I do appreciate and support the city allowing us residents to partake in a fun and creative contest [LINK], I do find the image below to be amusing.
This is actually what the sign almost would look like if we lived in the Town of Hempstead. I mean, how many times do you see TOH Supervisor Kate Murray’s name when you travel just on Lido Blvd? It must be at least dozens. Poor TOH taxpayers buying new signs every time there is a change in politicians…
There are some great pages on that list. A few not so great. The SeabytheCity Facebook page is notably absent. Yes, I get it… many of those pages listed are organizations, but a bunch are also groups where information is being shared (and copied, and pasted, and shared and shared again). Kinda like the seabythecity Facebook page. That’s ok. I like being left out. I don’t fit in with the cool kids anyhow.
Well that article inspired me to come up with a list of my own: The Top 30+ Facebook Pages Every Long Beach Resident Should ‘UNLIKE’. Let me know if I’m missing anything.
