From Project 11561:
“In the wake of the Dean Skelos alleged corruption scheme, Nassau is now going to require the disclosure of lobbyists for contracts. We call on City of Long Beach, New York (OFFICIAL) to do the same!
The City of Long Beach should be transparent and disclose the lobbyists.
“Edward Mangano said late Thursday that he will require the disclosure of lobbyists with each county contract… As well as an administration bill to establish a local lobbyist registry.” Newsday: Mangano to require lobbying disclosure on all Nassau contracts
I absolutely agree with this as it must be a topic we should all bring up come next election. Seriously. We keep hearing the allegations of ‘this person is related to that person who knows those people who hire them.’ I am not making any accusations, but it is evident that there is great distrust in our local government. Not just with the current administration, but the ones before as well.
You Long Beach Republicans want votes? You are promising transparency (read – seabythecity.com/?p=26186). Push for it. Promise it. Same for you, Long Beach Democrats. I am tired of hearing all the whispers and rumors over ‘this person is related to that person who knows those people who hire them.’ Oh I get emails about this all the time. Believe me.
I would love an official statement from the Long Beach Republicans on this issue.
