Long Beach has one of the most beautiful beaches in world. Our waters and sand have been rated highly in various magazines. The Long Beach Ocean Park beaches on a hot summer day are packed with families and residents spending time with each other enjoying what some of us have taken for granted. A beautiful day at the beach. Unfortunately, not all residents and family members are allowed to enjoy the beach. Sadly, many can’t reach the beach and tideline.. Residents and visitors with mobility issues in our community have been neglected for far too long. For them a beach day can only be sitting on the boardwalk looking down at the sand and sea. The City has segregated friends and families from participating in full access to the Ocean Park.

The residents of Long Beach are asking our City Manager Jack Schnirman and Long Beach City Council to begin a process of making some of our beaches accessible to everyone. The residents of Long Beach would like to have blue mats installed properly on a 4 East and 2 West End beaches for the Summer Season 2016 and beyond.
